  1. Good sound, too thin. 3 Star Review

Posted by on 28th Dec 2012

I'm a big Criss Oliva fan, and I know he used stainless steel but I prefer brass/copper. Anywho, these sound great, but as with Tyrannocaster, I found them way too thin for my style of playing, if only these came in the .63 size.

  2. Sweet 5 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Dec 2012

I've been a Jim Dunlop Jazz pick user for years, nylon, because they've put up with my style, and and are quick, but these beat them hands down. And they're so durable. I love them.

  3. Dream come true! 5 Star Review

I love these picks. They take a bit to get use to, but they are the best I have used.

  4. Nice, but too thin 3 Star Review

Posted by on 18th May 2012

I wanted a replacement for the old Hot Licks copper alloy picks, which I only have four of now. These picks aren't bad but they are too thin and they don't have enough authority for a guitar that isn't strung with really light strings. As a test I taped two of them together and then compared them with a Hot Licks copper pick - they feel about the same with the double thickness. The Hot Licks picks are thicker but they still flex fine - these are TOO flexible and they just don't work as well on heavier strings (ie, 10s and higher - in fact, they're iffy on 9s IMO). The thicker Ice Pix are too stiff, so I guess there is no perfection in the world. Still, these are useful and people who have never used the old Hot Licks will never know the difference.

ICE PIX says thanks for the review - the thicker 008 Copper ICE PIX are actually thinner than one of the HOT LICKS picks we have so this might depend on which one you had. We'll keep trying to offer as many options as possible.
