I ordered a sample pack of metal picks and was impressed at the variety of gauges given. This also gave the opportunity to decide on my right gauge for my playing style.

I found the Copper flexible ones to be the most usable. However I didn't really notice a tone difference between plastic and metal picks...I'm playing on a tele though so maybe it's more noticeable if you're playing a 12 string acoustic or something.
That said, I like the feel of the copper pick and doing pick slides is noticeably sharper and more intense than with plastic, so I'd be open to buying more of the copper ones in the future.

These are high quality picks. Not only do they keep the bass at a bass tone, but they are also very resistant and last very long. These picks keep the treble at a minimum and they don't really mess with the distortion. If you want to play at a low tone but still use picks, these are the choicce.

Awesome picks for the price! You could get 12 plastic for the same price but you will go through them in 3-4 months. These last forever and don't wear with scrapes and long-term playing. The only way you will get rid of these is if you lose them. Plus they look sick. Easier harmonics and longer sustains are a plus too.
